EVERETT - Building a new home or business in unincorporated Snohomish County will cost an extra $200 in traffic fees under a proposal supported by the County Council.
All five members of the council said on Wednesday they support raising traffic fees an average of 9 percent as part of an ongoing update to the county's long-range transportation plan.
That plan, which is due by the end of the year, lays a road map for the county to follow as it copes with 20 years of population and job growth."

I guess your attitude towards this may depend on whether you are already here (in which case we probably support raising this fee as high as we can) or whether you want to move or build here (in which case you'd probably like to see it low.)

But in either case the amount needs to be high enough to cover the actual costs of building and repairing the roads that carry the traffic.
