It's a quite rainy Sunday afternoon, watching movies and baking zucchini bread when the neighbor starts shooting his gun and the peaceful afternoon is wrecked. The animals shake and hide in the shop and baking stops. I've had enough!! It's time for me to organize the neighbors and head to the County to create a "No Shooting Zone".
Any help, advise, wording for a petition would be very helpful!

    Thanks! Penny, Granite Falls

    Peny,
I was raised in a rual setting where we would enjoy the American tradition of shooting.
I have a few options for you to consider. I used to live in a large city where shooting was prohibited, in ten years not a single shot heard. I feel that the real issue is, people are becoming fed-up with the negative aspects associated with an urban lifestyle and are moving to historically rural areas where activities like shooting are a part of the cultural landscape. But once they get there, they find there are characteristics of rural life they aren’t accustomed to or do not like (firearms for instance) and they work to impose their urban mind set on the rural traditions of their new area.
My advice to you, Penny, is to move to a city where local laws prohibit such activities. You can bake bread, cookies or whatever you wish, without the day being wrecked. I think both you and your dog will like the change...not to mention your neighbors.
    Byron
